Field of Dawning; A New Life (Marked Wolves)

Post by Guest on Thu Nov 05, 2015 1:38 am

First topic message reminder :

A beautiful green clearing surrounded by trees and small to medium sized rocks. Several small cave entrances are made in the side of one big rock. All the caves inside are connected by tunnels that lead to another clearing, but a smaller one, with a pond. The bigger clearing can sometimes be full of deer, which means plenty for the wolves to eat.

After they both decided to go with on the swift but hopefully short hunting trip, Ari followed them out of the den and back into the clearing where he hoped Nightshade and Silver were still located. After he saw them both present, he sighed a little relief cause deep down he still didn't trust Nightshade too well; especially after recently meeting a new stranger. Ari looked at all of them. "Everyone ready to go?" he asked.

"I am ready." Livia told him, giving him a small nod. She would help Kilo out if she needed any, feeling some pity for the young pup. Since she knew the qualities and responsibilites needed of an Alpha, she felt it to be her responsibility to take care of and watch over Kilo. She even felt the need to watch over everyone, as these things were drilled into her by her father and mother, both Alphas.

Kilo wagged her tail and looked at Ari. "Yes!" she barked excited-like. Why am I feeling like this? I haven't felt this way since before those evil wolves came! she said before she sniffled, hopefully unnoticed. She looked at Livia and she panted.

Of course with Livia thinking she's the main "alpha" in the group, Ari didn't take it too kindly after noticing she was acting like one more frequent with their actions and decisions since the group kept growing to a number of five wolves. But, the male kept those notions to himself and took the lead regardless heading into the direction Silver gave him earlier about where the hunting grounds were located.

Livia followed him closely, staying behind him and next to Kilo. She wondered of the others were upset at her for how she was acting; like an alpha. She didnt intend for some of those traits to appear, they just happened. Only out of her knowledge and few experiences, did she know what it was like to lead a pack... She was only a year and a half old when she was given the reaponsibility to waych over her pack, as her parents went on a mission to talk to a rival pack. It lasted more than a week, but it was also a test for Livia by her parents. This situation occured a couple of more times, and she thought that if she ever brought up why she acted the way she did, the others wouldnt understand her.

Nightshade plodded alone, eager to spread the love of venom paralysis. It make prey easier to catch, and allows cleaner death. However to Nightshade, so far it seemed Ari had been taking the initiative of a leader more than Livia - he had spoken to Silver, while Livia simply went to puppysit. The thought caused Nightshade to let out a heavy huff of air. Her ears were perked as she waited to get to the hunting grounds.

Lysana flew just above the trees, on the search for decent prey. What she found was far better. She faltered a bit mid-flight, trying to assure herself that the clearing, the deer, the wolves, were real. The yellow-marked wolf flew around the borders for a moment, then turned and darted back to where her brother was waiting, around a mile away.

Roscir glanced up from his position by a stream, his eyes perking up at his sister's excitement. Upon not seeing food as planned, he cocked his head to the side in confusion. "What is it?" He barked.

Lysana landed, practically beaming. "We aren't the only ones." She pointed with her fluffy tail back the way she had come. "There are half a dozen other wolves that way, with plenty of game, and shelter."

Roscir stiffened, his fur bristling, then lurched to his feet and stalked off in the opposite direction. "We're not going," he snarled.

Lysana exhaled deeply and trotted ahead of him, then blocked his path. "Why not?"

Roscir barred his teeth. "I thought you were the smart one," he mocked. "They won't accept us. Two strange wolves in the middle of nowhere? We're far better off making our own pack."

Lysana shook her head, her tail drooping. He was stubborn. "We won't know until we try." She took a step closer to him, her amber eyes imploring. "There is no point in being alpha if there is no one to lead. Within another pack, even a small one, we could belong again. We could rise higher. Isn't that what you want?"

Roscir growled again, his gaze darting about. After a moment, he seemed to relax. "Fine. If they attack, I warned you," he grumbled.

Lysana nuzzled him lightly as she passed. "Thank you." She nearly danced ahead, making a few sparkles to show the way. Roscir trudged behind.

Kilo looked at the others curiously. She wasn't aware of the other wolves around, she just wanted to hunt so badly. Her tail wagged happily as she glanced between Livia, Ari, and Nightshade. "What do I do?" she asked softly.
