First topic message reminder :

The Forest Beyond the Bricks

This is a 1 vs 1 roleplay between HoodedHuntress and SirenFlame.

In this world similar to our current time lives a little house at the edge of the woods where some say magic lies. Here, a girl (Hooded's character) goes to live with her grandmother who hadn't seen her since she was very young, the grandmother's name, Madame Kathleen (Siren's character). The forest is seperated from this house by a low wall made of bricks and stones rumored to hold powerful magic inside each stone.

The forests beyond the bricks is rumored to hold powerful and mythical creatures as well as creatures of nightmares and supernatural origins. A lot of people that go into those forests never come back out, and so the forests remain off-limits to the public. But can one smart girl (Hooded's character) unlock the secrets why people that venture into the woods never return? Is there darkness inside those trees that not even the sun can distinguish? Filled with suspense, mystery, and a secret room inside Madame Kathleen's house - FIND OUT MORE!

Rules:

<> Follow all rules stated below as much as those of Not-Rated!
<> Human characters are involved in this roleplay, however most are creatures of the forest
<> Creatures of the woods include anything mythical, supernatural, and made-up by the user
<> Some creatures can shape-shift and can have magic
<> If you are to use magic, mention what kind of spells they possess

Erin looked around, coughing as the dust entered her mouth. The room was eerie, and their seemed to be a presence in there. She looked out the window, following the soft ray of light down to the center of the room. She called out nervously "Anyone there?" She backed away, standing on the stairs once again, waiting for a tentative answer, obviously not expecting one. But there was that voice...was there someone in the desolate room?

From the shadows came a little bit of small giggling. "It depends on whether you believe in me or not." came a young-sounding voice and a figure stepped into the light, from their appearance, they looked to be around 5 or maybe 6. It was a boy with blonde hair so light you could barely tell it from the boy's skin tone, his eyes were the brown of mud.
Erin looked at him in compassion and worry, asking softly "Where are your parents? And how'd you get up here? Did someone lock you up here?" Questions ravaged her mind as she looked upon the small boy, thinking what possibly could've cause him to be up here. Had Madame Kathleen imprisoned him? She asked softly "Do you want water or food?"

The boy, Angee looked at her. "Don't worry, I can easily get out." he said and then his form faded away - was he a ghost?

Klopa made a confused whimpering sound and then growled a little.
Erin blinked in fear and immediately ran down the stairs, trying to force herself to believe there wasn't a haunting spirit in the house. She waited for Klopa to follow, so she could close the secret passageway.

(So far things are looking bleak.

Do you want to timeskip to Erin talking to Madame Kathleen about it while she eats her tacos?)

TIMESKIP!

Madame Kathleen waited for Erin at the table, it was only her sitting there eating some fries and sipping at some sweet iced tea.

Erin got straight to the point, asking her grandmother nervously, "Hey, why is there a secret doorway in my room? And would you know about a little boy who was up there? He was a ghost!" Erin was clearly confuddled and extremely worked up.

Erin nodded, trying to distract herself with eating. With success. The first bite was delicious, and she managed to get out in between bites "This is absolutely delicious. Thank you for making this Grandma." Erin realized what she had called her and asked meekly "is it ok if I call you that?"

"Was this boy you saw blonde-haired?" Madame Kathleen suddenly asked.
Erin looked over to her and nodded immediately, waiting for a follow-up question with anxious expectations for what could come out of her mouth next.

"Then you've met Angee." she said.
Erin asked in nervous confusion, "Why was he singing? And in that secret room? And...and he vanished through the wall!" She as clearly extremely confused and stressed as a result of it.

"He's a forest spirit, I used to see him when I was your age." she told her grand-daughter.

Madame Kathleen seemed to sense her fear and the fact that Erin would most likely try to run away and so she gulped. "Erin, please don't be afraid. Angee won't hurt you, if he intended to wouldn't he have done so by now?" she asked, she made a valid point. If such spirits were harmful, Erin would've been harmed already - however Angee just simply disappeared. "Angee is a peaceful spirit, he was probably just appearing to let you know he's there." she explained.

That did make sense. But it didn't make any sense that there were spirits in the house, that part didn't make any freaking sense at all. Erin asked nervously "But why are there spirits here in the first place? Did someone die here a long time ago? Are there more of them?" Her eyes seemed to show Erin had lost some of her trust in Madame Kathleen, and she voiced this as she asked "Why didn't you tell me any of this before?"

At this, Madame Kathleen's whole demeanor changed and a frown came upon her wrinkled face. Her gaze fell outside the window and she was silent for several seconds, the soft wind gently blowing her silver locks of her back. "Because some of them are my friends. I've seen Angee here ever since I was a little girl, there's more I'm friends with as well. I was warned by a source I can't tell you, that the only way they'd let me stay here forever was if I didn't tell people that first came here about it and let them discover it themselves. Plus Angee likes to at first scare people, but once you get to know him, he's very sweet." she explained.

Erin asked simply, focused on her safety above everything else at the given moment in time, "Are there any spirits here who are evil?" If the answer was yes, Erin would most likely be gone by the morning; she couldn't deal with that in her already messed up life. Unless Kathleen gave her a heck of a reason to stay, that is.

Erin consumed her information with interest. Perhaps she would give this Angee fellow a try. She asked enthusiastically "Can I go look for some now so that I can give them to him?" , her eyes curious and adventurous so see if this would actually work.
